The University of Georgia National Consortium for Teaching about Asia is located at the Center for Asian Studies,  University of Georgia, Athens. The Center has been offering seminars to school teachers in Georgia since 2003. It is affiliated with the National Consortium for Teaching About Asia (NCTA) which is a national initiative generously funded by a grant from the Freeman Foundation of New York and Stowe, Vermont.

NCTA was launched in 1998 and maintains five national centers that serve as a resource and oversight for state and regional centers, such as that at the University of Georgia. The five national institutions are: Columbia University, the Five College Center for East Asian Studies, Indiana University, the University of Colorado, and the University of Washington. NCTA at UGA is overseen by the national center at Columbia University.

To learn more about NCTA, and for information about individual state seminars, please visit the NCTA website at http://www.nctasia.org/.

Since its inception NCTA at UGA has been directed by Dr. Thomas Ganschow, Emeritus Professor of History.
