Center for Asian Studies held the 10th colloquium at 213 Miller Learning Center on February 22, 2017. Dr. Nanette Spina had a special lecture and had a Q-&-A session with audience after her lecture.

Professor Viet Thanh Nguyen, a Pulitzer Prize winner for his novel The Sympathizer, met students in the Vietnamese Language and Literature Program at a local Vietnamese café on Monday, February 13, 2017. This event was sponsored by the Center for Asian Studies.

On February 6, 2017, Professor To Mai Hong-Xuan from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Vietnam visited UGA and made a presentation on the UMP international medical internship program for a group of Honors students. Dr. To also visited the UGA Health Sciences campus.

Author of eight collections of poetry, Kimiko Hahn reads from her most recent collection, "Toxic Flower" (W.W. Norton, 2010), illustrating connections between scientific study and poetry. Hahn's visit to UGA is supported by a grant from the Willson Center for the Humanities and Arts.
